Before You Ride

Age & Weight Requirements
Children from age 5 are welcome on the beach ride. There is a maximum weight limit of 105kg for rider safety and horse welfare. Pregnant guests are not able to participate.

What to Wear
Closed-toe shoes are required (sandals or thongs are not allowed). Long pants or shorts are both fine. Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are strongly recommended. Helmets are provided.

When to Book
Horse riding tours run daily throughout the year. They're very popular — we recommend booking at least 2–3 days in advance during peak season (July–September) to guarantee your preferred time slot.

Experience Level
No experience required for the beach ride — the horses are extremely calm and well-trained. The cross-country ride is better suited to those with some riding background as it involves trotting and cantering on varied terrain.

Wet Season Rides
Rides operate year-round, including during Fiji's wet season (November–April). A little rain actually makes the beach ride more dramatic! Tours only cancel in extreme weather conditions, and we'll contact you same day if that happens.

Hotel Pickups
Free pickup included from all major hotels in Nadi, Denarau Island, and along the Coral Coast. Your pickup time will be confirmed by email after booking. Usually departing around 8:30–9:00am for morning sessions.

Horse Riding FAQ

Absolutely — it's one of the most beginner-friendly horse riding experiences in the world. The horses are extremely gentle, calm and experienced with first-time riders. Your guide will spend a few minutes teaching you the basics before you set off. Hundreds of guests who have never ridden before have this as one of their best Fiji memories.
Yes! Riding through the shallow water at the edge of Natadola Beach is part of the experience and one of the things that makes this ride so special. Your guide will judge the conditions on the day — if the surf is calm, you'll ride right through it.
Natadola Beach is approximately 35–40 minutes south of Nadi and 15 minutes from many Coral Coast hotels. Free transfers are included in your booking so there's nothing to organise independently.
Yes — cameras and phones are welcome. There's a designated photo stop on the beach. We recommend a secure phone holder or lanyard as the horses do move, and it's easy to drop a phone. GoPro chest mounts work really well for this activity.
